Starting in 2024, OPTIMUM will be offered, an exclusive event, access to which is by invitation only, reserved for candidates from the distinguished competitions, a showcase of authentic talent, with metal awards and diverse opportunities

Among the special prizes, awarded at the full discretion of the individual judges, there are invitations to workshops (including with companies), seminars and professional courses. For teachers, the possibility of being invited to support directors or choreographers during the company's work, as teachers in seminars or workshops, as guests and present their work in platforms dedicated to new emerging choreographers.

REGULATION

ART. 1. DESCRIPTION

The OPTIMUM competition is open to dancers of any nationality who have been awarded prizes in some of the affiliated competitions and who have obtained an invitation from the jurado. The choreography presented must be the same that received the invitation. The organization reserves the right to make any change in the program, due to organizational needs, as well as modifying the categories, with the sole purpose of keeping the spirit of enthusiasm and competition high. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in the exclusion of the competition.

ART. 2 : SECTIONS and CATEGORIES

SECTIONS:

​​DANZA CLÁSICA Y NEOCLÁSICA: soloists, 2-4 and Groups

CONTEMPORARY DANCE: soloists, 2-4 and groups.

FUSIÓN (Urbano, Funky y Jazz): grupos

DANZA ESPAÑOLA: soloists, 2-4 and groups.

CATEGORIES:

UNDER: born between 2011 and 2013

JUNIOR: born between 2008 and 2010

SENIOR: born in 2007 or before

DURATION;

SOLOISTS: 2 minutes

2-4: 3 minutes

GROUPS: 4 minutes

ART. 3 : AWARDS

For each category, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded.

Among the winners of all the categories, the overall winners with the highest points in general will be awarded with:

SOLOS: 1st €300, 2nd €200, 3rd €100

2-4 and GROUPS: 1st €500, 2nd €300, 3rd €200

There are special prizes, awarded to an exclusive jurado criterion, including scholarships in academies and/or companies and invitations.

ART. 4 : REGISTRATION, DEADLINE AND FEES

The choreography and the dancers must be the same who received the invitation. The registration deadline is 10 March 2024, by sending a confirmation email to optimumcompetition@gmail.com,  after which the instructions for the payment of the registration fee will follow:

​​Soloist €50

Pas de deux/trío and quartet: 30 euros per person;

Groups: €20 for each dancer.

ART. 5 : HOW THE COMPETITION WILL RULES

The competition will tend to take place entirely at the Teatro Astoria de Chiva (Valencia, Spain), on Sunday 14th April 2024.

STAGE: all the performances will act with white lights. The Theater has a 14 x 11 m stage with 2 wings per side, 2% slope.

REHEARSALS: No rehearsals, but once you have checked in, during the scans you will be able to visit the scenario and make ensayos in the collective space.

CHECK-IN: the check-in hours will be communicated by electronic mail. At the Check-In, the head of the group will receive the steps, which they must take during the entire duration of the event.

Each teacher must have a USB memory (no CD or mobile phone) with backed music (MP3 only), to use it in an emergency.

The use of scenery, tools, objects or substances that can damage or make the scenery slip, will not be permitted, under penalty of descaling.

Unless otherwise indicated by the jurado or the organization, no applause is permitted.

ART. 6 : JUDGMENT AND EVALUATION CRITERIA

 

The technical jurado will be made up of internationally recognized personalities, whose names will be publicly defined once the distinct accounts. The juicios del jurado técnico determine the classification of the categories and are expressed in centésimas and are considered exclusively on a mathematical basis. The concesión de prizes queda reservada (except in ex-aequo cases) to the 3 choreographers who, in each category, obtain the highest points. The jurado reserves the right to not otorgar prizes.

ART. 7 : ACCESS TO THE THEATER Y TICKETS

Access to the dressing rooms, scenery and backstage will be permitted to the dancers and only to the choreographer, provided with a pass.

The public will be able to assist by purchasing the ticket in taquilla with a cost of 10€, following the instructions that will be sent to you by electronic mail.

ART. 8 : VIDEO AND PHOTOS

No videos/photos will be allowed, entrusted exclusively to professional operators, who will be responsible for their sales and distribution.

ART. 9 : CONCLUSIONS

The votes of the jurado are definitive. Participants must meet the rules and conditions of entry, the fulfillment of the rules will result in the exclusion from the competition.
